Interview about commissioned research by NICT
To realize advanced information networks, We are working on developing advanced wireless information technologies, encompassing signal processing circuits, device, and implementing technologies, modulation/demodulation, and network technology.
For signal processing circuits, device, and implementing technologies, we focus on digital signal processing ICs, RF/mm-wave ICs using Si-CMOS technology, and ultra-compact antenna modules. By integrating these technologies, we are dedicated to develop smart RF/mm-wave ICs and beamforming transceivers.
In modulation/demodulation, and networking technology, we are targeting next-generation wide-area, high-speed mobile broadband wireless access (MBWA) systems. These systems are intended to support stable high-speed connectivity even under conditions of high mobility, such as travel by car or train.
Additionally, investigations are being carried out on highly-reliable, high-throughput wireless local area networks (WLANs) and wireless personal area networks (PANs), which facilitate seamless connectivity.
These efforts are aimed at developing robust, seamless wireless communication systems that automatically connect to the optimal network regardless of user awareness or environmental conditions.
